That’s me popping my head above the water’s surface for a moment to breathe.
All of a sudden I feel ridonculously busy. The term is wrapping up; I have a group paper to prep for publication and an exam to create for my zoology students. The field season is two mere months away (which sounds like a long time, but when you’re going a million miles away up to the arctic north, you only get one shot at the whole preparation/planning thing…). I’m running around tracking down half-century-plus-old obscure literature and field notes (needed for the field season planning) which has resulted in a pile of hundreds of pages of text to read, I have trips to the National Insect Collection planned for the next few weeks, databases to mine and, gosh, even my blog reader is telling me I’ve got several dozen posts to catch up on!!!
Which reminds me: don’t forget about An Inordinate Fondness #3, which will be posted here on April 18… get those submissions in by the 15th!
*gasp* *pant* *puff*
Great fun, isn’t it? 🙂
Edited later to add: aaaaaaand now I’m also hosting House of Herps #5! On the same day as AIF (although Amber is being super-nice and giving me a day or two of wiggle room)!
Ohhhh, I’m a glutton for geekery!!!
