You’ll have help carrying all this, yes?
Sort of…I have a “helper” (a high school student from the village where I’ll be living), and an ATV. I won’t be bringing all this stuff out every day, but some days will require more gear than others; mainly the days when I’m setting up trapping grids etc will require heavy lifting.
Oooh, look at all those toys!
Pete, that’s just the surface stuff…I’ve got it all unpacked again in my apartment…my couch is covered in terrestrial sampling gear (malaise, pitfalls, pans, sweeps, berlese, vials, whirl paks, ziplocks, quadrats, diggers)…my chair is covered in aquatic sampling gear (more vials, more nets, dip cups, ph meter and calibrators, rearing chambers, sorting trays), my coffee table is buring under spreading boards, boxes, and miscelany (killing jar, pinning stuff, surfactant, camera, duct tape, etc.) and I’ve got a few hundred vials of ethanol on the floor, and jugs of all kinds of preservatives on my kitchen counter. Phew!
Oh, and the kitchen table is my “desk”…computer, binders/notebooks, papers, and labels…
