Jealous! Sounds like an awesome field season so far and I can’t wait to read more! The insects you’re bringing in has got to be super interesting! Can’t wait to hear some more about them hopefully!
I’m just starting to get a feel for the fauna up here; I serviced my traps for the first time on Monday. I will say that there are some GORGEOUS Carabids up here (I’ll try to get a pic of the best ones so far, pinned…my fave is Carabus veitinghoffii, just STUNNING), enormous bumblebees, and with all the mosquitos, it’s a dipterists’ heaven. (I’m getting quite good at pinning the little guys, too!) One thing I’ve seen that surprises me is grasshoppers and leafhopper nymphs; I’m not sure why but I wasn’t expecting those!
OK, that’s pretty doggone beautiful. I’m envious.
Even Hondas can look pretty in a sunset. It truly is a beautiful place.
Wow! How do you ever close the door and go to sleep?
It’s very hard, actually, my sleep patterns are COMPLETELY messed up…I’m up reaaaaally late, very often mucking around in ponds at the back of town at 1 a.m.+
